Hi guys,

Stumped here, a while ago I was doing some port forwards and reset uPnP on my dsl router, upon rebooting it from the routers page it could not connect back using the IP 192.168.0.1 the default with sky routers. If I run ipconfig the default gateway is still 192.168.0.1 and I am able to connect to the internet and ping the router.

If I go onto my laptop I can access the routers homepage at that address and still connect to the internet. I've checked that my browsers arent configured to use a proxy tried the netsh winsock catalog command to no avail, cleaning all the history/data/cookies/bad registries using ccleaner as well as disabling kaspersky protection and its firewall.

I might add that I swapped out to fibre today and the new router has not solved this either. At this point im not sure what else to try since its only specific to my desktop. does anybody have any ideas for me?

Thanks!

UPDATE: Logging in with my laptop I found the broadband port and was able to connect to the routers setup page via the IP address but still cannot connect via the LAN port posted above still stumped!

Update 2: So I reset the router via my laptop from its GUI interface and that has resolved the issue on my desktop PC, resetting the physical router did nothing for it however, definitely one of the weirder problems I have had but hopefully this helps someone who stumbles across this!

Solution
With the desktop, open a command prompt and type in IPCONFIG. This will tell you what its conencted or trying to. Paste a screen shot of that from your PC and from the laptop, then we can see if there is any differences.

Picked as solution though I have already manged to resolve this, the IP Configs were identical in all the importabnt places, DHCP, DNS, Default gateway etc I have updated the resolution in the original post although the root cause and even the resolution elude me as to what was happening.
