Upgrade or wait?

Now that its 2016 a new wave of games are coming out that I would really like to play. I really just need to upgrade my GPU and CPU, I was planning to get a i7-4790k and a GTX970 but this would be about 700-725 dollars and is kinda expensive. Ive had a i5-4770k and GTX760 for about 3 years now and was hoping that the i7 and 970 would be able to last me longer which would really making dropping the cash much more simple. Im really not sure if I should wait and see if anything has a price drop or not. Right now im waiting on 2 games coming out in the next month, Far cry primal and the Division and would prefer not to play them on Xbox if I didn't have to...Yes I own an Xbox cause my IRL friends are broke.

Never listen to that Steam garbage. Anyone who says a good i5 wont run any new game is crazy.

Honestly there is no reason to switch from the 4770k any time soon as this cpu is more then enough for any new game and will not bottleneck. As for the Gpu I would recommend to go to a gtx 980TI since you don't need to update the CPU

If you manage to sell your GPU then buy a better one, if not, well the GTX 760 can still hold it's ground, maybe not at maxing out the division but high for sure.
Your CPU is superb no need to update, i agree with the guy above.
A decent jump would be a GTX 970, or an R9 380

Simple advise is always buy the best single GPU that you can afford unless you are doing something weird like me.

You think so even with the recommended being an I7-3770? I never really understood steams recommended settings.
