Will an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9100 work in my old dv6-1340ed?

Dear community,

I got an old HP dv6-1340ed an I want to upgrade the processor.
What is the best processor sugestion?
And will, for instance, an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9100 work?

My dv6 had an intel core 2 duo 2,2/2M/800 and consumes 35W.

(if you need my MB number pleace tell me were on my MB I can find it)

cant say ? any chip has to be compatable with the boards bios ? you now need to find if any chip you want to use is supported under the bios

see here how the bios supports a chip and how some chips require a supported bios to be used [any board ]

you need to figure on finding that info on your hp to insure the chip is supported under any of its bios's ?? [opinion]


what I mean is like I said most time the cpu is sodered in place and for the most part not ment to be removed so when you go buy a laptop you look at the installed cpu first to be sure its a or powerful enough for your needs then graphics card [it can also be soldered in place and not so easy to remove and...

the processor is an p socket and I already removed it from the motherboard quit simpel.
Is there an processor you would reccomend?

btw I don`t understand what you mean with the last part. Can you explaine?
I gott this laptop way back in 2009.
