Hi guys,
Just installed a new heatsink and now I got no picture or sound.

The motherboard light is green and all other components seem to be working but I don't hear anything and the screen is getting no picture.

Could it be I fudged the cpu in the process? How would I even test that theory?

What parts are used?

Download hwinfo32,
http://www.hwinfo.com/download32.html
open it,
click run,
close the top window which is the system summary,
click save report at the left top,
in the next window at the bottom check=dot "short text report" after that next, you'll get to see what is in your pc,
copy that by clicking "copy to clipboard" and right click and paste in you next post.
also tel which psu=maker/model/wattage. Also which cooler is used?

You could just try a total rebuild,it is some work but gives the ability to double check everything.

You could try to push the pins back with a toothpick or something similar.I can't tell without picture how it should look.

The download and run thing you quoted won't work since I got nothing on the monitor.
The psu I got is corsair vs450 and i got the noctua nh d14.

I would send pics but seems like I can only link photos.

At this rate I'm gonna have to try the full rebuild idea or just give up and take it to someone

Yeah that was pretty stupid.:p

Can you upload the to Imgur and copy the .IMG link in a next post?

Would like some more specs like motherboard and cpu.

The VS from Corsair isn't really a great psu so maybe this is giving problems, but i can't say anything for sure. Can you test with another one?

I would first try that rebuild see where it leads.

So I tried the old heatsink In the rebuild and it's the same story. So I doubt it's a compatibility issue.

Here are the specs: the CPU i got is amd fx-6300 hex core 3.5ghz am3+ 8mb
asus m5a97 le r2.0 motherboard,
2gb amd radeon r9 270x graphics card.
8GB kingston hyper-x fury dual-ddr3 1600MHz memory.
What part of the pc should I post a pic of?

Pictures are terrible, am I right in thinking we should be looking at the row of pins on the right side of the photo?
My guess is that they've bent as you removed the processor from the socket.

Do you have another PC you can use to test the processor in?

Yeah sorry the pictures are awful it's pretty clean lol.
Yeah it is the pins in the right, got no other pc to test it on unfortunately.

UPDATE: had some guy come look at it, after an hour he couldn't figure out the problem AND, now my graphic card fans aren't spinning either when I turn the pc on.

Fml so hard.
