So I've been trying for quite a while to get a stable overclock on either 4.4 or 4.5 GHz, and never going over 1.5 volts. I was wondering if anyone else had any stable ones I could try and see if they work. Or if I've done something wrong someone could point out my mistake, considering this is my first time attempting this.

My specs are;

MOBO - GA970A-UD3P
GPU - MSI R9 390
CPU - FX-8350
PSU - Corsair CX 750
CPU Cooler - Cryorig H7
8gb ram

If you have any specific questions please be sure to ask. It would also be beneficial to know for future questions you may have what psu you have, what ram you have (speed and timings), and how you are trying to overclock (ie multiplier, fsb, or both). And what your CPU cooling is. To overclock a FX 8 core processors you really need an aftermarket cooler as stock cooling is not nearly enough.

Another great post to read over is from an overclocking master and has a great "cookie cutter" overclock posted for the FX 8370E @ 5Ghz. Note your settings will be different, but its a good post to read over and understand for overclocking on the FX processors.

Most of what I know about...
You should be able to overclock to 4.2 Ghz (the boost clock) with no Vcore bump at all. There is no way that a 4.4Ghz overclock should need anywhere near 1.5V. Usually 1.5V+ is for 5Ghz overclock. I am going to post a couple really good overclocking guides for you to check out. They use Asus motherboards but the fundamentals are the same. I would suggest reading the guide and watching the video, try to apply it to your overclock and if your still having difficulty we should have a better idea of what is wrong.

Most of what I know about overclocking I learned from experts like FlanK3rCZ and The Stilt. Anything you can find online with them giving advice is pure gold. I have personally overclocked my FX 8370 to 5.05Ghz (everyday clock) and my best overclock (really use only for benchmarking) is 5.5Ghz by flowing the advice of the true overclocking masters.
