I refitted my CPU cooler (stock Intel cooler), some of the pins (or whatever they are) on the cooler were bent (they were previously), and I pushed all of the pins and 2 of them clicked. My PC temperatures were what they were before I refitted it before I put my desktop on my desk. I take it onto my desk and idle temps are really high - 96c. I reboot and go into my bios and witness my CPU temperatures quickly raise. to the 90s, but I turned it of before it could reach it. It isn't a thermal paste issue. What could I do?

I am suspecting the only solution is to get a new cooler, an I am going to regardless, but would there be a temporary solution for now or is the new cooler the only solution?

Thanks in advance.

The temps just rise at about 3c per second.

Definitely time for a new cooler, the pins are what keeps the cooler properly seated to the cpu for heat transfer. You mentioned only 2 pins clicked, all 4 need to engage completely. That's likely why your temps are so high. I'd leave it alone and wait for the new cooler if it were me. It's not worth the heat/risk to go without a pc for a few days.
