Hi. So I just was wondering if this is a good gaming pc, you see I want to be able to play games at max settings 1080p 60-50fps, the games that I want to play are, fallout 4 (modded) skyrim (modded) witcher 3 xcom 2, company of heroes 2, endless legend, total wars warhammer among others, something else I want to do is a little modding myself with 3ds max, and maybe some rendering. Also I want this build to last me 2 or 3 years without having to build a new one. So here it is:

If there is some approvement let me know, or if there is a better version of the parts I have listed please let me know. Oh and one more thing I have a question. So the new cards are coming out and they are going to be better than the ones we have now but I was wondering because of the new hardware how long will the gtx 970 last me before having to get a new one?

Solution
For a 970 GTX, 1080 is really the best resolution. Moving to higher resolutions will drop performance quickly. It will last as long as you are happy. If you want Ultra on every game, you'll eventually want to upgrade.

Edit: Get the 850 EVO. The 840 is older.

Thanks for the reply. I probably should have said what I want in terms of how long will it last, basically I want the graphics card to run most games for at least 2 years at 50-60fps ultra or high settings. And everything else is ok? I'm sorry if I am asking a lot of questions it's just last time I built a gaming pc I got screwed over.

Two years will most likely be tough. Triple A titles are typically hardware demanding. You will most likely have to lower the settings to play games in two years time. The 970 GTX is going to be 2 this year and Nvidia is supposed to release Pascal this year. Ultra 2 years from now probably won't happen.

Thanks. What about high settings? And do you think it would be a better idea to wait for pascal? And if I do wait would the price of one of the pascal be about the same as a gtx 970? I'm sorry if this seems a little off topic but I would like to keep my options open. Thanks

Sorry. Prepping to go to a party.

High settings, sure. As for prices, typically the 900 series will drop and the newer series will take the similar price ranges. Don't get me wrong, the 970 GTX is a great GPU. Just look up some benchmarks. Google "970 GTX benchmarks" or "<Insert Game> Benchmarks". You'll see some of the last generations in the reviews as well.

No problem. I think I will wait for the new cards especially because the price may be similar to the Maxwells. Thanks for the info it's appreciated
