Is my GTX 750ti FTW under performing? I get 30-60 FPS in Minecraft!

I have a GTX 750ti FTW edition Graphics Card and I think it's under performing! I can generally get 60FPS in Minecraft! Which isn't really that many for a simple game!
Here are my specs
-ASRock H97m Motherboard
-Intel Pentium @3.80
-Corsair Ram (32 GB)
-1TB WD HHD
-GTX 750ti FTW
-27" Asus 279m monitor ( running in game mode)

MC devours CPU's, Your pentium has 2 fast cores and MC performs best using 4 Fast cores (i5's) but your cpu isn't tat bad.

Have you enabled Vsync? there is a Max FPS settings on MC so that might be limiting ur performance

Go easy on the mods if you have any, Optifine helps a great deal too

1) I assume it's a G3258?

2) Is this the MS Beta version or regular Java version?

3) There's a lot of settings you can change in the Java version of the game which affect performance such as viewing distance (or draw distance.. whatever), anti-aliasing etc.

4) For the record, it's not a "simple game" in terms of performance. On highest settings it's actually quite demanding (Java version).

How many blocks is your render in the game set to? Maybe even upgrading to a socket 1150 Intel i3 CPU might help. It's still two core, but has hyper-threading. I'll know for sure this coming week because I'll have built a rig with an i3-6100 + GTX 950.

On a side note: Wow dude, that's a killer amount of RAM. Does it have a purpose, or you just wanted it?

What do you mean by that?
How much of the CPU being used completely depends on the CPU, GPU and game settings.

You actually have to look at CPU scaling graphs to extrapolate useful information (ideally with similar settings and GPU).

I suggest playing with the settings.
I'm not sure what resolution your monitor supports. I'd stick with 1920x1080 max either way.

60FPS is pretty playable, and capping via VSYNC helps avoid screen tearing. It's not a fast-paced shooter game so my advice is THIS:

1) Stick with VSYNC

2) Tweak settings (resolution, AA etc) until you rarely drop below 60FPS (assuming 60Hz monitor).

I have a macbook pro 2011 with an i5-2415m + 8gb of ram running on intel hd 3000

I get 60 fps on 12 chunk render distance with fast graphics (setting)

My Friend has an e8400 and an HD6970 and get 40 fps with the lowest settings and the lowest render distance + he has 8gb of ram.

Clearly, the 6970 is waaaaayy better than intel hd 3000 but doesn't make a difference since the Mac is destroying the desktop in performance

the e8400 is a DESKTOP processor clocked at 3ghz while the i5-2415m is a Laptop processor clocked at 2.3 ghz and 2.5 turbo

the only advantage the 2415m has is the architecture, which makes it a faster CPU. thats it, the only advantage is a slightly faster CPU yet the macbook Wins

on top of that, Mac OS X runs games like SH** compared to windows ( friend has win7 sp1 64 bit) and it manages to spit out or fps at higher settings

CPU dependant game :)

I have only noticed this problem over the past month or so! I was thinking that my CPU could be causing a bottleneck to my GPU? My friend has a Nvidia 740GT getting 100-130FPS in minecraft and I was wondering if I should be getting more FPS with the graphics card I am using?
You can see more of the computer here on my YouTube Channel!

I have all the RAM so I can run Adobie Premiere Pro and still play games at the same time!

But more by how the game is programmed. It's a common know fact that a strong fast CPU does more than a strong GPU. It's the way that Java scripted game is programmed.

It's one of the few games that's very dependent on the CPU. If you don't like the numbers I stated, that's fine. I don't actually know the percentage of CPU to GPU load. Changing the settings in the game isn't going to affect on how much load is placed on the GPU as much as you think.

I'm going to reinstall Nvidia GeForce Experence - Some people on anther thread were having the same problem as me and one of them mentioned that if you change monitors it could cause a problem! I switched from 2 10" monitors to my Asus MX279H 27" and I forgot about updating the GeForce Experience Control panel, now its throwing an error "GeForce Experence has encountered an error and must close!" so I think it could have caused a problem when I switch my monitors around!
