With the next architecture of Nvidia GPUs coming out this year, should I wait to purchase the xx80 ti equivalent? Or, buy the 980 ti now, or buy a low to mid range card now and sell it when the new architecture comes out?

Obviously, Skylake CPU's and MOBOs are out so I can buy those now or wait till later. My budget is 1400 to 1600 dollars that I have now. 1440p to 4k resolution, Video rendering and editing, minor graphics rendering, photo editing, and gaming are all tasks to be performed.I don't NEED the computer now, but it would nice to have one now. Thank you in advance, and I can provide more info if need be.

Honestly you can always wait for the latest tech, but if you do that you will never get anywhere.

Tbh, what's available now is more than plenty. A gtx 980 ti is more than enough for most things. I'd get it now, because the next several months worth of using your PC will become quite valuable to you. Besides, NVIDIA wont immediately release the Pascal version of the 980 ti, and that high end version of Pascal will likely take several more months.

Thank you for your answer! This seems to be the common opinion. Okay! Time for PcPartPicker!
