I have an Asus z87 VI extreme and I was wondering if it would support a Samsung 950 pro? It has an M.2 slot on it but some people say that z87 won't support M.2. So if my motherboard supports it, will it be bottlenecked? Also if my mobo doesn't support it, could I use some kind of PCIe adapter?
Thanks

you need a pcie 3.0 x4 m.2 slot to get the full speed

the m.2 your mobo has is PCI express 2.0 x1

so severely bottlenecks a 950

a pcie slot adapter would be better, should get full speed since it has four 3.0 slots

but no you could not boot from it without a bios update
