How long a hard disk with 5 - 8 bad sector will work before becoming corrupt ?

Hi,
I'm using WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD but unfortunately HD tune detected 5 - 8 bad sector on it. I ran chkdsk m: /f /r command to make things better. Anyway, I don't have anything valuable on the drive but some COD: Ghosts and That's my boy type games/movies ! So, how long the drive will work properly ?

Of course you are not safe from errors. But currently that HDD still is considered ok.
If you get a lot of relocated sectors and their number increases, those are signs that HDD will die soon.
Then you should backup and replace the disk.

You may need to check SMART statuss on that disk more frequently.

Pending sectors mean that there has been trouble reading them. You can overwrite those sectors. Pending status is cleared and depending on results they are relocated or not. Basically you don't know yet if they are bad.

You can use tool mhdd with scan/relocate option. That will make pending sectors go away.
(for 1TB disk that may be rather long process)

And if it get fixed then in future is the hard disk safe from same error ? Or I should throw it even after the problem get fixed ?

The problem got fixed bro :) No more pending sector.. Now is there any chance of they are appearing again ? If yes, then should I run the software you said or just throw it ?
