Best Air Cooler for I5 6600k build

Hello!

Im building a my first gaming pc so please excuse my possibly dumb questions :p

So I was looking at the MSI Z170A M7 with the I5 6600k (is that dumb?)

Buuuuuut I was curious which cpu cooler I should choose, I want to overclock a little, nothing super crazy so I figured no need for liquid coolers (also that may be to complex for me anyways lol) I was looking at the the Darkrock, noctuna-nh-d14/d15, or the cooler master hyper 212x

I hear the d15/d14 or Darkrock pro 3 are great (maybe overkill?), but are heavy and complex when installing, will these fans break my mobo lol? what do you recommend Thanks for your time!

The larger air coolers like those you mentioned aren't going to break the motherboard (thousands of people use them) but they are a bit overkill unless you're looking for max overclocks. The h7 should be a good compromise, plenty for mild overclocking and still stay quiet, not overly large/heavy. No interference with ram at all, bigger coolers mean you need to consider how tall your ram is for compatibility.

Keep in mind it will block two ram slots if your RAM sticks are high profile and above 42mm, like with the Ripjaws V from G.Skill.
