So, I currently have a samsung ssd 850 120gb. I recently purchased a 850 evo 500gb and wanted to transfer windows from the 120 to the 500. How do I go about doing so, and what should I do with the extra 120gb ssd?

Solution

Pretty easy, then.

Connect the new drive, Run the Samsung Data Migration.
When done, power off, disconnect the old drive, power up with the new drive.

Your new drive will be the C. After, reconnect the old drive and wipe it.
Use it for whatever.

2 options - Clean install or clone from the old to the new.

Since you are going from a smaller drive to a larger, a clone operation is easy.
The Samsung Data Migration will do this no problem.

Install it, run it, follow the directions.

What to do with the 120GB after? Anything you want.

Is this a desktop or laptop?
