High GPU Temps While Gaming

Hello all,

I have been having overheating issues with my GTX 560 graphics card. While gaming, HWMonitor reads max temps of up to 100 degrees Celsius. The idling temps are around 30 C. It only seems to do this under high load and sometimes it doesn't even have to be a graphically intensive game. The rest of my computer runs really cool (about 20 C idle and 50-60 with intensive gaming).

I have owned the card for about a year and a half now with no major issues so far. My computer has also crashed about 5 times in the past month (first time it has ever done that). I'm speculating that the issue is either the GPU itself or my PSU.

Steps I have taken: cleaned all dust from card and computer, added a fan sucking hot air from the card out the back of the case, added a fan to blow more air towards the card, set GPU fan to 100% (about 3750 RPM), and replaced stock thermal paste with Noctua NT-H1 paste. The paste seems to lower the idling temps by about 6 C, but it did nothing for gaming temps. It COULD be possible that I applied too much paste since I did apply as much as I took off of it.

One more thing to note is that HWMonitor gives my MOBO 12V a value of about 4.7V, so not sure how to interpret that. I have heard that HWMonitor is garbage for voltage monitoring though.

Specs:
AMD FX-6300
GTX 560
530 Wat PSU
8 GB Ram
Biostar ta970 MOBO

Any thoughts on the issue would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need any more info.

I would also like to add that the crashes have mostly been during non-gaming times such as just idling at the desktop or watching videos. Only two crashes have happened while playing a not very graphically intensive game.
