I ran a clear all on my Seagate HDD 250gb by mistake, I was trying to do it on a memory stick that was Disk02 in diskpart and instead did it on disk01 (my external hard drive). Since i have used some recovery software that has provided a .toc file that is a similar size to the amount of the data that was on it at the time. please can someone advise if this might be my data and advise how I would convert the .toc back into my data if so?

Many thanks

The .toc file is probably just so you can see what the software will be able to recover.
You have to pay for the software to actually get it recovered, what you currently have is probably only a demo or trial version.

The .toc file alone will not get your data back. It's just an information file (Table Of Contents).

The software is Ontrack Easy Recovery Enterprise (11.5.0.2) (this is a full version)
The Manual is not the best however the individual files appear in a list and you can save and open them.
Rather than providing multiple files it provides me with the one .toc file of 230gb which is the size of the amount of information that was on the disk originally.
I have tested this software on a pen drive which the software provides a list of the files as it should do. .
Really i am just wondering if there is anything I can do with this TOC file as is the closest I have come to recovering the data. Or I should continue looking for software or pay someone to do it which is very expensive.
