Does the Gpu or the Cpu matter the most when it comes to games like csgo

I have been playing csgo for around 1.5k hours and recently got a fancy computer and cool peripherals and stuff but with a new update my frames have dropped quite a bit and it seemed to be that AMD users were having problems with frame drops and still are. I was just wondering with my current setup (amdfx 6300, msi r7370) should i be going for a new gpu or cpu or switching to intel and nvidia components or what?

I was running it on high graphics until the update and i couldnt play without it crashing which was happening to alot of other players also that were using amd so now i have to play on low settings and usually only get 90-150 fps with weird drops in fps

Sounds like a driver issue or something, that hardware is certainly capable or running that game close to maxed out at a decent framerate, nor should it crash in such a low demanding game like cs go I definitely think you have some kind of software issue.

Here is a guy with a weaker AMD system than yours and he still gets 100fps+ on close to max settings he is even using 8x msaa.

You dont think there is an issue with the game itself?

Why would there be? Do you think the latest update made AMD systems perform worse? I highly doubt it, if that were the case forums would be flooded with people complaining that there AMD system suddenly started performing worse with the latest update and thats not that case. In fact I see a lot of people claiming that the latest amd driver update and game update actually improved there performance in CS GO as it should.

Are you sure you have the correct and latest driver installed for your gpu.

I just downloaded the r7 gaming series drivers.
