I'm on a laptop in a college dorm. Until yesterday, I never had any problems. Now the ethernet cable says "no network access" under the Network and Sharing Center. When I plug the cable into my smart TV, however, there is no problem. This obviously means there is a problem with my PC. I've already tried uninstalling the driver and allowing it to reinstall. Please, any help is appreciated.

hows the college network setup??? I went to Texas Tech and if your computer popped up on the IT departments sh*t list then they black listed the MAC address. I.E. bot net, torrent, etc. may have been what happened. especially if your WIFI still works since that card would have a different MAC address. might call and ask them if that happened to you.

try connecting your laptop to a switch with another and pinging it out to see if the Ethernet adapter is fried as well
