EDIT: I've expanded my budget and done a little more research, so this is my updated take on parts...
With tax returns and an extra paycheck coming in next month, I wanted to put together a solid rig for editing 4k footage out of a pair of Panasonic Lumix cameras (and possibly higher-end cameras in the future). It'll also be used for color grading via DaVinci Resolve.
