I want to build a pretty solid gaming PC for ~$1000. I mainly play League of Legends, but want to be able to get Grand Theft Auto V and Fallout 4 and run them at high settings. I'm purchasing my parts in NA. Where can I save some money with my current build? I really want to stick with the GTX 980.

Thanks!

You could consider an I5. I7 is very pricey.

I wouldn't be in a rush to cut the 980. You want as much video as possible.

You could get a nice mid tower for less money. Something from Fractal Designs, Corsair, or NZXT. Fractal seems to be a favorite nowadays.

8GB of RAM is plenty for gaming so there is one way to cut. Get a single 8GB stick and add another down the road.

You could just get the SSD now and add a storage drive down the road. I'd stick with the SSD for now since you don't want to buy a storage drive now, then have to reinstall windows in the future when buying an SSD.

Overall you have a nice build with the Z170 and 2400 memory. Otherwise you could drop the memory speed and get an H170 based board but...

I would consider stepping down from the 6700k to a 6600 or 6600k. You should also consider the GTX 960 or 970, but definitely don't blow $129 on a case (especially one by Rosewill :p)

That is a very good case but way over his budget.

Yea I know I will. Just where can I free it up the most without cutting too much performance?

Do you have a case you would recommend?

I'm a fan of Cooler Master, Fractal Design, and Corsair. Perhaps Zerk's suggestion?
