I have a problem with a fan splitter i just bought. When i plug the two undermentioned fans and before the systems post, the fans are making a screeching noise until they both start. I'll be very specific so i'll get the higher chances of getting a solution.

Sometimes i have to blow into them to make them start.
Sometimes i only have to blow into one because the other already started.

Usually the noise stops when both fans start spinning but sometimes it keeps on going for a few moments and sometimes even does'nt stop.

Fan splitter: 6in TX3 Fan Power Splitter Cable From Startech.
Fans: Corsair Fan AF140L 1000 RPM. a1425l12s-2 (two of thoses attached to the splitter and the chassis fan 3 header)
Mobo: m5a97 r2.0 from asus
PSU: G750M from cooler master

Any thoughts? both fans are working fine but this is very annoying.

Thank you guys in advance for any help :)

Solution
Those are pretty slow fans so you may want to change the speed settings(q-fan for asus) in the bios to start a little faster. This should help reduce the chance of the fans not starting properly.

While this is not related to your issue, many of these splitters also split the speed sense wire(normally Yellow).

I already tried this sorry i should have told this in my post.

The bios version I have is pretty basic i can change the q-fan setting to normal, turbo etc but i cannot control the speeds the way i would want to. If you know how please tell me!! (Its soooo much easier on my sabertooth x99)
I also tried to kick the fans to 100% with speedfan on any temperature as soon as windows loads the program but this doesnt seem to fix the issue.

I thank everybody for any help in advance :)

I suspect the fan splitter Cable may be the issue. Needing to blow on a fan to get it to work? Never heard of this happening. If the fans spin at 100% when you boot you can assume that firstly the fans themselves are fine. I would try (a) using a different mobo chassis fan header (b) another fan splitter Y-cable or ideally option (c) A fan controller . I use an NZXT sentry 3 and have been very happy with it.

Well if control is not helping it, I think you will have to look at other options for sure. The only time I ever had a fan not start was when I had the voltage too low for starting.

If they had been higher powered fans, I would worry about board overload, but these are NOT high powered fans

Are these old fans or new? The symptoms you describe sound a lot like old fans with bearings almost worn out. On old fan with worn bearings will be hard to start when cold and will often make a lot of noise at first, then get quiet as the bearings warm up from friction. If that's what you have, plan to replace the fans.
