Son's PC won't start. Put my PSU tester on the PSU and it said no -5V so I swapped the PSU from another comuter.
Didn't work. So I checked that PSU. No -5V. And it is new one - couple of months old only.
So took his old one to the other computer and tried it. The computer fired up fine.
But that computer has a broken on/off switch and I use an on off switch cable if that maks any difference at all to anything.
So it looks to me like the whole problem with his computer is on/off switch same as it was with that other computer.
And the whole thing has me wondering how can a PSU work without the -5V line? Is it not needed any more?
