PC delay start up with CPU upgrade

Hi I am having pc with e2220 2.4 duel core processor with 3gb DDR2 ram of frequency 400MHz. now i have upgraded processor E8400 3GHz 1333 MHz fsb. After upgrading the processor My PC take about 40 Sec to clear the POST with full cpu fan noise and then Bootup normaly. when i Install Orignal Processor E2220 pc start up normally. Plz any body help me Regarding this issue >>> I have also upgraded the BIOS but problem not solved

Again, that doesn't necessarily matter. You have an OEM motherboard and support can be quite awkward. Now, does you friend have the exact *same* motherboard? I don't mean just the chipset and the socket.

The MB on brand PC's is almost always capped at the highest FSB rating.
Meaning that your MB cannot support the E8400 processor at 1333 MHz FSB since the e2220 is at 800 MHz.
Your system is starting up but the processor works on a slower clock and might fail completely.

It's hard to say without more information about the motherboard - OEM motherboards are commonly not that straightforward. Just knowing the socket and chipset doesn't necessarily tell you what the motherboard can support.
