I'm attempting to find a key to classifying fans. I've been looking at noctua fans, and I need to know what measurements can tell me which of the two it would be. Perhaps CFM or mm/H20, etc.
I know this isn't exactly the best helper when picking but I'd like to know regardless

I find that you can tell by looking at the fins. If it has lots of fins and the gaps between the blades is little or they overlap, it's static pressure, as it allows as little air as possible to spill backwards behind the blades, thus creating a lot more pressure where the air is going. Airflow has higher angle blades that more air faster, but they are spaced out further, and you can see air can spill backwards if it is pushing into an area of high resistance or pressure.
