Hi,

I am currently trying to make some video tutorials but can't seem to get good quality sound through the mic on my headset. I have tried with two different pieces of software,: Plays.TV Beta and ActivePresenter but both have very poor quality sound and you can hardly hear my voice and there is a lot of interference.

I am using a Sennheiser headset and onboard sound from my ASUS M4A87TD motherboard.

Was hoping someone could help by either telling me what I am doing wrong or suggest an inexpensive way to get decent quality sound.

Thanks

First of all - Don't use in-built mics , they are good for yelling at kids in-game but if you aim to make video tutorials use a dedicated mic
A good sound quality can do wonders to video , it will attract more people.
For the video
You can use fraps, Shadowplay, dxtory, smartpixel etc etc , You can buy the product or go the pirate way.

As for the sound - There are some really good mics available(under $100) , like -
-Samson Go - http://www.amazon.com/Samson-Mic-Portable-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B001R76D42/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456265575&sr=8-1&keywords=samson+go
- Samson meteor ( personal preference) -...

Also use separate software for recording audio , as it provides you a lot of flexibility. Audacity is a great free well known software.
Later you can put the video track and audio track together in your editing soft , sync them up and Export!
