Hi all,
I have had this problem for a couple of years with my PC, basically I made a thread a long time ago in 2014 link here - http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2229588/920-temperature-gaming.html

My old PC used to have the same problem as now what happens is - my game would work fine, temps are now much lower than previous times so that cant be an issue. GPU at around 50-60 and CPU around 50-65 max... However suddenly my PC Hangs, I hear messed up sound in the background as if the application had crashed and it stutters the sound, My monitors go off, however my PC fans and computer are still turned on and working fine. However I smell warm air come out of my PC.

The interesting thing is I use my GPU a lot, im a YouTube content creator and I always render at 1080p 60fps or 720 60fps, at high quality, I use OpenCL which is using my GPU to render, I also use it while streaming along with my CPU. It has a lot of stress on the GPU while rendering my PC becomes nearly useless until its done, but this issue only happens when im gaming.....

Old specs:
Nvidia GTX EBGA Superclocked 770 4GB
920 i7 Stock clocks
12GB Ram
Windows 7/8.1
Big bang Xpower
750W.

New Specs:
r9 290 Vapor-x 4gb
i5 4670k
16gb ram
windows 10
MSI z97 gaming 5
750W.

I havent played PC for a long time I moved to consoles, however last year I bought a whole new PC, the only same component I kept was the PSU... This PSU is probably over 4 years old, I was just wondering would it make sense that the PSU is the problem? I just started gaming on the PC again, and realised I am getting the same issue as I get in 2014, It smelt a little around the CPU but it smelt a lot around the PSU.

I just wanted to check if the issue was the PSU before I purchase anything else. I ended up paying over 1.2k for a brand new PC, the only thing unchanged was the PSU.... Ill be honest its very annoying, its not like its overheating and im lagging in games etc, im only playing CSGO...

Also if its the PSU is there any 650W - 750W PSU I can buy for under 60? Just as a temp replacement. Mainly to see if its the PSU Issue, I dont want to spend 100 pound to find out its not the psu.. ive spent to much on the pc already cant afford a quality PSu just to find out its something else.

Thanks for suggestions but I will need a UK one, when I look at parts picker there's none available. I will take a look in other places for around the same price thanks
