My gaming PC wont turn on AGAIN, any ideas as to why this is?

I have had my custom built gaming pc for over a year now and since building it i have encountered no problems except once a few months ago.

I tried to turn my PC on last november and for some reason it did not power up as i expected it to. I tried to find an answer as to why this was happening online but could not so i waited a few days before i was able to take it in to be looked at - often trying every couple of days to turn it on. After a week or so i tried it and it worked perfectly with no faults and this has continued untill yesterday when i tried to turn it on again and it did not power up.

I have recently moved into a new student accommodation (last September) and due to the fact that my pc worked fine for months after this happened last time indicates to me that it might not be a hardware issue but an issue with the mains?

My keyboard and mouse are also not powered up (i can usually move my keyboard and mouse when my PC is off and they will display lights) so this indicates that there is no power going through my PC at all.

However i have tried plugging it into a different plug socket in my room and i have still not had any luck as of yet, so i guess it could be my PSU (however as i stated earlier i find this hard to understand as it has worked without fault after the last time it broke).

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated as i really want to get this sorted out as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Hi,

The specs i know off hand are
PSU: Corsair C600M
Motherboard: ASRock H97m Pro4
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Cooler
CPU: a Intel i5 (i am sorry i do not know the specific model as i am currently away on a trip with university!)
Graphics: Radeon MSI R9 390

My main confusion surrounding this issue is that this happened a few months ago and fixed itself randomly. This makes me think it cant be a critical error with the hardware but something i am doing wrong perhaps(?). Since it fixed itself all that time ago i have experienced no problems whatsoever with it, yet when i tried to turn it on a few days ago i got no power whatsoever just like last time. It could be something to do with my electrics as stated before but i dont understand what exactly as my PC has ran smoothly 95% of the time since being here.

Thanks for your help,
I look forward to hearing what you think.

Cal

Do you think perhaps my rig is overloading it or something? What are your opinions on the fact that it broke before and then fixed itself?

Cheers

it could be overloaded as they are not designed for gaming at all

Interesting. Kinda strange that it fixed itself from last time then worked without fault though.

Would you suggest taking the PC into be checked before purchasing a higher end PSU just in case it is a mobo issue or something?

I run both my CPU and GPU overclocked on my CX600M without issues, they're not as bad as they are made out to be, but it could be faulty.

Its a strange issue really. It's always been fine on my rig and i wouldnt really describe mine as OP.

Could be faulty, is there any way to check?

You can check your voltages in the BIOS, to see if they are within standard or use a PSU tester. It would be good if you have a suitable PSU to try in your rig.
