Hi guys,

I'm wondering if getting a dedicated sound card is worth it for me.

I have an ASUS Maximus VII Formula and from what I've read the onboard audio is good enough, however other sites/forums say it's not.

I'm only using a stereo headset and I'm not fussed about a 5.1/7.1 Headset as I have a full surround sound system for that.

What do you think?

Dedicated sound cards will only benefit you if you use sound editing and that for videos or soundboards. On board audio on modern motherboards are perfectly fine for casual gaimng and listening to music.
