Is this a good system for VR?

Hey everyone,

I'm building a system for VR development (htc vive) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this system will work well. I'm especially wondering wether there will be any compatibility issues. I tried using http://pcpartpicker.com/ to see if there were any compatibility issues but that site doesn't have all the components that the site has which I'm buying the components from and vice versa.
Here's my list:

Motherboard:
MSI Z170A Gaming M5 S1151 Z170 4xDDR4 ATX

CPU:
Intel Core i7-4790K, 4GHz, 8MB, S1150

GPU:
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti, 6GB, Gaming

Ram:
Kingston HX Fury 16GB(2x8GB) 2400MHz CL15

Power:
CoolerMaster B600 V2 600W

Storage:
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5" SATA3
plus I still have 2x 2TB external hard disks (USB 3.0)

Case:
Fractal Design Core 3300, ATX, black

I already have a mouse, keyboard 2 displays and an old iMac that might function as a display.

This is the first time I'm building a system on my own so I'm not really sure what to watch out for when picking the parts and I was hoping someone could help me with that.

Thanks in advance :)
Jesper

Solution
One major one off the bat, the CPU and motherboard aren't compatible, to use that motherboard, you need to find an skylake processor (ie i7 6700k).
I would go with a better power supply as cooler master ones are for the most part pretty dodgy. Look for a seasonic one of around 650W or try and find the EVGA G2 650W PSU

Thanks! that was really helpful! I had the i7 6700k at first but I chose this one because they didn't have the 6700k in stock and this one was on sale. Is there any way to change the motherboard instead? Otherwise I'll have to go with the 6700k since that one seemed good as well.
For power I now found a seasonic one which I'll buy instead.

Thanks again!

That is a good solid power supply that will do an excellent job for you. You can change the motherboard so that you can use the i7 4790k instead, which means that you will be looking for a z97 motherboard (Something like the Asus z97-A is an excellent choice)

Thanks! It turns out that if I take another motherboard I'll get issues with the ram. So I'll have to find new ram and as far as I know there's not a motherboard that supports both DDR4 ram and this CPU. So I think I'll go with the Intel Core i7-6700k after all and then I'll just have to wait a couple of days extra.

Thanks a lot man!
