Yup. Aside from components it's pretty much the looks and how much bloatware the default Windows installation will have.

Lenovo & dell both produce decent quality systems.
I would say though that lenovo/hp tend to have specialised 14 pin atx connectors on their boards , if it ever comes to upgrading the PSU it makes it hard work - lenovo make their own motherboards.
Dell have always used standard boards with a locked down bios.

Well I have never been a fan of hp and dell as for lenovo they are ibm

My toshiba is easy to upgrade memory and hdd. 1 screw each and done

Ok still goes the same not a fan of them.
Really depends on what the person want to do with it, how much they want to spend at first and or the ability to get parts at the right price and available upgrades later.
