Kinda torn between a 1tb wd black and 2tb wd blue. I intend to store my games in it. I suppose 5400rpm will be slower, but is the difference very noticeable, say just like the difference between a ssd and 7200rpm hdd?

I currently have a 1tb wd blue and 250gb Samsung 850 evo ssd.

Hey there, Shouvanik Sengupta!

Since you'd be using this secondary HDD for gaming as well, you'd most likely going to find the 2 TB WD Blue a bit slow for the intended purpose. The WD Blue family is designed for everyday computing and tuned to provide solid performance and reliability. The 5,400 RPM-class WD Blues are a great storage solution for massive data, media files, and backup, for example. However, they could appear a bit slow if you plan to use them for demanding software instead.

The WD Black, on the other hand, is our performance drive. In addition to the 7,200 RPM, it also incorporates a dual-core processor that offers twice the processing capability to maximize drive performance, especially for...

The WD Black, on the other hand, is our performance drive. In addition to the 7,200 RPM, it also incorporates a dual-core processor that offers twice the processing capability to maximize drive performance, especially for loading games. Besides, the 5-year limited warranty on the WD Blacks definitely gives some peace of mind.

Hope I was helpful. Keep us posted if you have more questions! :)
