So I just built a pc. I initially put the Windows disk I and loaded it up l. I entered the key and it said it was wrong. After looking for solutions, i tried one which said to power of the computer and I was still on the screen with the activation key. I also reset my modem. After that I tried to boot Windows up again but all it says is reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. I only have 1 hdd

Solution
1. "select proper boot device or insert boot media" means it is trying to boot from something that has no OS. Boot from your Windows disk.

2. "I entered the key and it said it was wrong." From where did you obtain your Windows install and license?

Turned the pc on and it was at the reboot and select proper boot device. I then put in the Windows disk and it loaded up. Restarted pc and tried again and nothing.

So right now, from pressing the power button, what happens, exactly?
