Hello, I've recently done a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. On day 1 of this installation, it was only showing 50mb for hardware reserved on task manager, which I was fine with. As time went on, it showed 2gb, and now it shows 4gb out of 8gb of hardware reserved RAM.

So, I took out each stick of RAM and popped only one in at a time in a different RAM slot, each time the hardware reserve showed 50.5MB out of 2.00GB. Also, I ran the Windows memory diagnostic test each time with the single sticks, all 4 times it came up with no errors. This has lead me to think that the RAM isn't defective, and Windows is having the issue, so I've just fresh installed Windows 10 again just in case and it's still showing 4GB out of 8GB hardware reserved RAM.

Just wondering what else I can do, I know my RAM still exists as I was playing GTA V (back when it was only taking 50mb for HR) and it uses around 6.5GB of RAM (out of 8GB), and this was only a few days ago.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Motherboard - MSI 970a-g43

RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB Kit (2GBx2)x2 DDR3-1600 UDIMM

Hardware reserved generally means that the RAM has been dedicated to the integrated GPU. There is a setting in your bios/uefi that allows you to tweak this. I am skeptical though, I have never seen a motherboard that supports more than 2GB dedicated to the GPU.
