RAM upgrading 2 sticks to 4 sticks

I have even mixed (2) 8GB sticks with (2) 4GB sticks of the same brand (same speed and timings). You can even mix dissimilar sticks as long as you use the timings of the slowest stick, however, this can be complicated to get working and is never recommended. You should do as you plan, and upgrade to the same set, even if it costs a few bucks more than an alternative.

Some people will say that you should ONLY use ram from the same package, meaning same production batch. I call that crap.. yes that is optimal but I have done some terrible mixxing and matching and got it to work. Combining multiple sets that are technically the same is absolutely fine.

The link was a add for NewEgg and I saw no RAM on it. You can buy a 32GB kit and later buy another 32GB kit. For your system to run good w/o issues it would be best to get the same brand and model to have the best chance. The RAM timings need to match, so not to cause your system to slow down to deal with the timing issues. Even mfrs change the chips sometimes on the models they sell so carefully check the timings, or later just buy a 64 GB kit.
