I have an msi 970 Gaming am3+ Motherboard and my PSU is an EVGA 500w 80Plus bronze.

after hardware cleaning when i try to re connect the PSU connector to the motherboard it just can't fit at all i don't hear the 'clip' it's about 2mm of motherboard and the connector to fit 100%, the fist time that i connect the psu connector to the motherboard it fit at first try... and i am so paranoid of pushing too hard of breaking the motherboard or anything .. !

But my pc turns on and works fine...

so is safe to have the connector like this ?

any recomendations ?

i was hurt my hand a bit of pushing hard the connector T.T

sorry for my english

Solution
The clip is so the connector doesn't work out during use. If the connector is in all the way and the system is working, all contacts must be making. Sometimes it is just near impossible to get some connectors in far enough to fasten the clip.
Don't force it too hard. Don't want to break the board.
