Cheap Semi-Modular PSU????

Hello all,
So for my personal rig, I had originally picked out a Corsair CX430 Semi Modular power supply. After doing some looking, I found out that these are pretty bad PSU's. I did more looking and couln't find really anything under $50 to buy instead. If you need the build specs, here they are:

I don't need opinions on the build, I just need to know what PSU I should choose for under $50. 80+ Bronze is fine, but It needs to be atleast semi modular. Thanks for your suggestions!

This is within a few dollars of the 550w PSU suggestion above, and over the few years using it presumably one would probably save power equivalent to the price difference between the two anyway. it also lets OP not be worried about being dangerously close to power limit at stock settings, keep in mind this also allows some headroom for potential overclocking. The CX isn't all that bad. They just have low end capacitors and are Corsair's economy PSU. Most are still going strong. But check out the Rosewill PSUs that Newegg sells. I've used several of them with no problems ever.

You'll need more than the 430W CX for running the R9-380 anyway. Usually 550W minimum.

I usuually add about 100 watts to what PCpartpicker shows as the max TDP, and it only shows 336W, so I don't think I need anything over 500w. I could be wrong though
 


For future proofing at a low cost, i'd go for a 650w PSU, just because if you buy a more power hungry GPU, you don't want to spend the extra 100 dollars on a brand new power supply.
Generally you want to go with a bigger brand like EVGA, Seasonic, Thermaltake or Corsair.
I'd go for the corsair VS650, gives good performance at a low price using a multi rail design making it safer in the case of overvoltage or surges.

I'd think twice about that 336W figure. The R9-380 is a 190W card maxed out: http://www.hwcompare.com/19959/radeon-r9-380-4g/
Quite often, it can surpass that. This well-respected publication suggests a 550W minimum for a system with the R9-380. http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
Besides, the R9-380 requires 2 x 6-pin connector, the CX430 only has a single 6+2-pin. The 430W PSU is too small.
 


Given the price difference between these low wattage PSUs its better to go for a 650w imo for better efficiency at more moderate power load and future-proofing.

That could well be. I was trying to stay as close to the OP's price figure as possible and still provide a PSU that would safely power his system.
