Hey everyone.

GTX 970
i5 4430 - 6GB RAM
Motherboard- Medion 7848 H87 (AHCI) ?*

Everything worked fine. bought a 4GB Ram stick from Crucial.
D3 4GB 1600-11 Crucial SR CRU

Had been using Elixir DD3 1600 MHZ 4GB + 2GB ( 2 sticks )

Got the 2 GB out, put the 4 in. Went in correctly.
the only thing now is, the 2nd slot doesnt work anymore. It doesnt recognize the 2GB anymore either. So its basically out?

i hope anyone has answers for me. Struggling here.

Things that i have already done:
Plug in - plug out.
Bios reset - jumper.
Bios update.
Did the MemTest - 0 Errors.
CPU-Z says nothing in that slot.

basically out of ideas.

Thank you.

Solution
Examine the DIMM slot under magnification. See if there is any damage to the edge connector contacts inside the dead slot. Look for any foreign matter that may have been pressed into the slot. Look for any burned contacts.

Has this system been in use for quite awhile, or a recent build?

it worked yesterday. like before i put the ram out and changed into the new one. Someone told me to change the DRAM Voltage and add +0.06. I have no clue if that would help.

You say you ran memtest. Did you run it on each stick individually, alone to verify the stick is good? You shouldn't have to adjust memory voltage if the stick is the correct voltage for that board. I can't find any info on that particular board to verify the RAM requirements.

The sticks work individually on the first slot.
