Can I set up a network using a splitter between modem and firewall so that only part of the network is behind the firewall

I am wanting to use the firewall for the POS system I am using, but not for the two other computers on the network.

Solution
yes and no. what is assigning the IP addresses? if it is the firewall then no. if your modem also has a router feature and is assigning IP leases then yes. although your firewall should have a "white list" where any MAC or IP address on that list bypasses the firewall. look in to that that is best practice and better long term.
