I moved my modem upstairs to get a better connection on my wireless ethernet adapter. Now I'm getting no Internet and a missing network protocols message. How to fix
sounds like your modem was connect to the wall with a COAX cable (the kind that use to plug into TVs for cable. circular cable with a copper wire in the middle) if that is the case when you moved it to another COAX cable you didnt move it to one that was the active one from the ISP. just because the cables are the same dosent mean they pass the data intelligently. best bet is call the cable guy and have him or her move the feed to the correct COAX to where you need it. although you can do this yourself in most cases.
