Hello there!
I'm having some issues such as freezes and when I checked my Windows System Logs several errors (The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort2. (ATAPI event ID 11) ) appears on the logs and I'd like to know what causes it and if I can fix it somehow please.

First it happened with big games such as The Witcher 3. The issue ocurred during a fast travel loading screen. I got stucked in a loop. I had to force kill the process and it took minutes to vanish from the task manager processes list. The whole computer was a mess on that time. The HDD led was on and from time to time the led blinked and then the led got turned on again without blinking and it goes on.
I repaired the gamefiles with Steam Repair Tool and I was able to play as usual.

Alright! - I thought.

BUT on 02/16 the Windows got stuck on the Initiating Windows screen. Again, the HDD led was on and it got there forever. I reset the PC through the reset button and then I tried to initiate the Windows on Safe mode. No luck...
I restarted again and Windows asked me to run the repair tool. I gave it a go. No luck. It stayed on the progress screen for 30 minutes then the tool said it couldn't fix it (no big surprise though). Then I restarted the PC AGAIN and let it stay on the Initiating Windows screen. For my surprise the OS loaded up and the welcome tone could be heard.

Alright! I run to grab my external drive to make the backup of my stuff. Cool. I did my backup with no problem.

Then a friend told me to check my HDD with the manufacturer's tool (SeaTools for DoS). It took more than 2 hours to check for HDD errors. It did found a bunch of bad sectors/blocks though and fixed it. But the program itself "told" me that it was a good idea to buy a new HDD just in case.
Okay. Everything was cool and I thought that it was somehow "fixed"... Until today 24/02. Windows got stuck on the Welcome Screen this time! YAY! Nice! Just my luck. lol
I checked with HD Tune Pro this time, it found some minimal badblocks, some Current Pending Sectors and it said the Airflow Temperature has reached the threshold (which is weird, it on 32ºc right now) and that replacing the HDD is recommended. I've already bought a new HDD and I'm just waiting for the delivery.

But so... What causes this "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort2. (ATAPI event ID 11)" on Windows System Logs specifically? It's my HDD? Or it's my motheboard SATA ports? I changed the SATA cable from port 3 to port 2 and to port 1. I tested all the ports on my MB and that problem persists. So... HDD problem?

Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks. :)

I see. It's more likely to be a HDD issue than a mobo issue it seems.

LOL
Now there's a different error. It's basically the same, but it says "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR2. (Disk event ID 11)"
The PC is working fine right now like nothing has happened. lol
Yeah, my HD is going do die soon. :|
