I am curious if you are able to paint the fan on a Hyper 212 evo or any heatsink for that matter. I am not talking about the heatsink itself just the fans. Would something like that affect cooling performance?
not noticeably. The fan would gain the weight of the paint, and the friction of the air on the paint surface may be greater or less than it is without the paint, but I can't imagine a perceivable difference. Now if the paint starts to flake because of the high rpms, that might make your computer messy. So don't use metallic paint
I wouldn't. Most CPU fans are designed to stay in balance at high rpms. Painting it will more than likely throw the fan out of balance. This will cause unwanted noise and vibration.
dont know why youd paint it but,no,you would have no problems if you mask off the rest of the cooler.dont want to get overspray in the internals.painting it will have no difference in the balance unless you are using a brush.lol
