Hi,
As the title indicates i'm gonna be using my HDD which is in my OLD PC to my New Gaming Rig, i already have a new HDD and a new SSD installed in the gaming PC and OS is also installed and running, however i took a quick look at the old PC and said, this HDD should be up and running in new gaming PC, but i don't know if i have to just plug and play or have to wipe out anything from the old HDD in order to make it work in new PC.

Solution
Most virus must me RAN or Clicked on. Very few can infect a PC just by being connected to it. the only one i eve came across was the old Autorun virus but their has to be an Autorun.ini file on the root of the hard drive for that.

If you plug it in, and then format it right away their is nothing to worry about. If you wanted to you could plug it in, Then for Windows 7 and Under mash on the F8 key on startup and start windows in safe mode with Command Prompt. Then just type in the following with an enter after every line

diskpart
list disk
select disk X (where X is the disk number of your hard drive. You will know by the Total hard drive size. if it is old it will be small. MAKE SURE IT IS THE CORRECT DISK)
clean...

then done. Restart the PC. This way Explorer doesn't even open and windows doesn't even access the hard drive.

Also need to make sure what kind of hard drive it is. What conector of these is it.
