I decided that I would like to build a second pc for a little bit of everything, and I also decided that it would be fun to try to get a dual xeon build running. My question is basically, do all these parts work together?

CPU: 2x xeon x5450
RAM: 2 x 4gb FBDIMM DDR2 ECC PC2-5300
MOBO: SuperMicro X7DCL-3
PSU: Corsair CX430
Cooling: D39267-002 - (Only solution I could find for normal desktop.)
Case: DIYPC Solo-T1-R (cheapest I could find lol)
HDD: 2 x Old 2.5 inch 500gb caviar blue drives (sata)
GPU: Integrated Graphics?
This build is $220 currently all parts shipped. I just want to make a server PC basically just to mess around on. I was going to try to use this to remotely render videos edited on my main pc, small NAS or file sharing type thing, and maybe host a few game servers. I was planning on using ubuntu server.

Looks like it will all work, but it is definitely a little dated.

Two minor issues I see.

The PSU isn't that great, it will work but its a poor quality PSU.

the CPU's from what I read do not have integrated graphics processors.

I think you might find a better/more modern second hand server/workstation straight off of ebay for as little as $200. unless your budget is too tight.

Unless you already got the parts , I would get the E5 2670 from ebay, it currently goes for around 75$ and offers much more.
Only problem is the motherboard but i'm sure you can find one cheap 2nd hand in your area somewhere.

Alright, I thought I saw something about integrated graohics some where. PSU is cheap but the point of this system is really just to have a fun build/project to do lol. I saw some second hands on ebay for $240 (probably about the same by the time I get a new GPU. They were significantly better (2 psu's, 16gb ram, better cooling, 1.2tb of space) but again, I don't really need any of this, this build is mainly just for fun.)

The problem with that is that one E5 2670 is 4x the price of one x5450. Would it still be better pricr/performance?

Thanks for the help! I am being quite stubborn lol. I know I could have gotten better price/performance with a used server but what can I say, lol. Thanks again
