If money is no issue then go for SLI/Crossfire and the best processor money can buy.
X99 if you want to go for the highest end of DDR3 with a 5th generation i7, you'll be future proof for about as much as the first generation DDR4 with the best skylake i7.

Also my best bet in future proofing a gaming rig is to buy it at the same time as a new console appears. Games will stay at those specs for a couple of years.
Since the PS5 will be launched in 2020, anything that beats a PS4 in processing and can do 80 fps in 1080p is future proof until then.
