I am looking to buy a basic eBook reader, I don't need any fancy features.

But I don't have wireless to activate it, so I want one that either doesn't require wireless to activate or doesn't require to be activated.

Also I want to be able to turn off wireless, so not one where the wireless hardware is on all the time and you can't turn it off.

Which one would be good?

Hi
The Sony PRS-600 does not have wireless.
But I cannot recommend it,it uses ePub DRM which caused me loads of problems such as buying books then not able to read them as Adobe ePub decided they were not legal or the verification site would be down for maintenance .
When my list of legally purchased books that I couldn't read reached six I bought a Kindle.

Ahh - apologies then. I chose a basic Kindle some years ago - the one that doesn't have touch as it seemed pointless to me on an e-ink reader. Done me proud for several years and is in almost daily use.

Maybe look for an early Kindle on fleabay might be an answer for OP?
