Im Currently Using Intel DH55PJ Mobo Currently with 1x4GB DDR3 , Thought to Upgrade , WIll it Run 1x8 GB RAM in 1st Slot , And Current 4GB RAM in 2nd Slot , Total of 12GB . Will it be 12GB Usable RAM Even if it Supports upto 8GB ?
Specs :
CPU: Core i3 540 3.1Ghz
GPU : Geforce GTX 750Ti
PSU : 450W
Current RAM : 1x4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
Mobo : Intel DH55PJ

Your mobo maxes at 8GB and in a 2x4GB configuration. Might check with the manufacturers QVL, as many h55s won't even take the majority of DDR3 currently available since it is made with high density memory chips, I normally recommend the GSkill NT series of value DRAM as they are made with low density chips
From the ARK Intel site :

Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) : 8 GB

So as they say you won't be able to run 12 GB of memory on that board.
Your only options are : either you put the 1x8 GB stick in there or you can buy another 1x4 GB's stick.

Also you should buy only memory modules with a frequency of 1066/1333 MHz according to your motherboard specs.

Chances are that 8GB modules are not supported at all if the max is supposed to be 8GB with two slots. 8GB consumer DDR3 modules didn't even really exist back then, so at the very least a BIOS update would be necessary. Then another problem comes in with how current 4GB modules use very different chips compared to the old 4GB modules, so even matching the frequency and timings of the current module, chances are that mixing the old module with a new one will not work and you'd need a matched 2x4GB kit.
