BSOD after I installed a new MOBA and CPU

I just got a new motherboard and CPU to perfect my gaming experience. I installed the new Motherboard and CPU into a new case and switched the components from my previous PC to the new one (including my hard drive). Everything was installed correctly and seems to be running fine, hardware wise. However, once my system begins to boot up Windows 7, it crashes. I can of course tinker with my MOBO's BIOS but I can not run windows at all, not even in safe mode. I am not entirely sure why this is, as I am not too tech savvy, but I think it may be because I need to do a "clean install".

However, I do not have a disc copy of windows 7 because my original PC came with it already installed. How can I perform a clean install without having to purchase windows 7 from Microsoft (my PC tinkering funds have dwindled to nothing)? Can I download it onto a USB drive and via the internet for free? I'm fine with wiping my hard drive clean, and don't personally need to backup anything. Suggestions, solutions, and clarification as to what I should would be greatly appreciated. If I get to the point where I know enough about PCs to help others, I will certainly pay-it-forward.

Specs:
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 LGA 1150
CPU: i7-4790k 4.0 GHz
GPU: Sapphire Dual-X Radeon R9 280
Ram: 8 GB
SSD: 1 TB

You definitely need to do a clean reinstall of windows, but if the old system came with OEM win 7 preinstalled it's likely you'll need to buy a new license aswell. The old key is tied to the old motherboard. If you want to try and transfer the license you would need to contact Microsoft. You'll need to buy or borrow install media, currently you can't download the OEM versions of 7. Microsoft does offer downloads for 7, but it's for retail keys only.
