Hi, I am building a gaming rig (I am going to build something that can run 2 monitors 1920X1080)
Well anyways I want to make the colour theme blue and red (well this only happened cos I was getting a GPU which is blue and I coudn't find a perfect mobo that is blue) well anyways I am planning on getting the following"

i5 750 (Corsair hydro H75 hydro cooler)
R9290 Vapor X crossfire X2
12 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM
(was going to get the Antec Earthwatts 650 watt PSU, but doesn't have enough 8 pin connectors, if you know any, please don't be shy do share!)
240 GB SSD (X2) + 148 GB HDD
ASUS Maximus III Gene
Corsair Carbide Air 240

If you know any aftermarket parts like fans or even water coolers, what not please let me know.
Or even if you advise I change something.

Thanks very much

Solution
Will you at least move ahead to Sandy Bridge? The i5-2500K can be found for about $100 used, and has 20%+ higher IPC than Nehalem. In other words a Sandy Bridge CPU running at 4gHz would be as fast as the i5-750 at 4.8gHz.

It won't despite all the negative reviews, I will still use this CPU I am planning to OC it (to about 4.5 GHz - yes this is possible I know how to) That is why I am getting a huge PSU and and a CPU cooler.

The i5 750 has ALL the power I need (I do plan to OC it to about 4.5 GHz - yes it is possible) and four cores is really all I need, I sincerely doubt it will bottleneck

Thanks for all the help, I will consider these! The only reason I went for this one is really because I coudn't find a motherboard that can hold Crossfire and 4 RAM slots, (and when I found one with high overclocking capabilities, I took it) and it had an LGA 1156 slot, so why not just take the i5 750, plus I will be able to OC it! With that in mind I had decided this is the one.
I was actually going to get the P7P5D-E, but it's out of stock
And apparently (these comments are from 2016 February 10) this processor is very good:

"Is it worth buying it for a gaming setup?"

Answer: Should work fine with most high end games, just make sure you have a good gpu.

Absolutely!! It is one bad little processor. Find you an awesome VCard and Decent Mobo and you will have one heck of a build at a great price. We build these often and if out together correctly you can run a factory settings all the time and no verclocking is needed it. Take a look at the Sabertooth MB's !! Hope this h… see more

Yes, definitely. It is a really good CPU and like the other 2 replies, get a good video card with that and also have a good amount of RAM and you will be good. Might not be up to par with the latest games but it should run most of them OK. Some of the latest games are not all that demanding anyway.

If clear that whether it is worth , is that I have today and is very good , of course we have to help with a good video card , all new games nowadays runs smoothly without sticking , the truth It's really good
