Gigabit connection (300mbps) drops to 100mbit

Hi,
I've been having this problem for a while and I've finally decided to ask for help.
Sometimes, randomly, when I turn on my pc, the connection takes a while to be recognized by the PC itself (about 10-15sec, while it's usually instantaneous) and then shows up in the network card as aa 100mbit connection, while it should be a 1gbps one (even though I'm limited to 300mbps). As I said, this happened for a while, 5 times already I'd say, and it's not the cable because I switched it and tried that same cable on my macbook pro and it worked just fine going at 293mbit on speedtest.
I reinstalled Windows, rebooted the router, restarted the system several times, but the only way to fix this is apparently to unplug the cable and keep plugging it in again until it gets recognized as a 1gbps connection (may take from 1 to 10 tries); at this point, the actual speed though drops to like 10mbps, so I need to restart my PC. Then everything works fine for another 10 days or so, until the problem appears once again. I don't know if it's a software or a hardware problem, my PC is pretty powerful and the components are decent anyway, my Mobo is an ASUS Maximus VII Ranger, so it fully supports gigabit connection etc.
Anyone have any idea???
Thanks :D

Well I didn't really understand what you meant, I'll just add some info :D
I have 4 devices connected to the router via ethernet cable + other wifi stuff for a total of about 10 devices, 2 of which actively connected.
The PC has an ASUS mobo linked in the 1st message, I think that's the only piece that is relevant when it comes to network issues, right?
Sorry if I didn't provide the details you needed, can you be more specific? What do you mean by "what's connected to what"?
Thanks :)

Unless you mobo is hanging off a patch cable!!! Whats the router??

It seems pretty obvious to me that "what's connected to what" doesn't refer to the mobo being connected to the router, also because you have no reason whatsoever to ask that since OF COURSE it is connected to a router, otherwise how could I even be on the internet through cable connection...And since it's not hanging off a patch cable, you can assume that it is connected to the remaining PC parts which I'm not going to list since they have nothing to do with connection, unless you're telling me that my 500bgb samsung evo 850 or my gtx 970 are messing it up. The Router is the "Vodafone Station Revolution".
Anyway I've updated both BIOS and NIC drivers and it works for now, we'll see what happens.
Thanks everyone

And to my knowledge that's the first time you have told us WHAT the router is, so whilst it might seem obvious to you as you're sat in front of it, the people who are trying to HELP YOU are not. Lets hope the obvious fix of keeping drivers etc up to date has done it for you.
