This is the gear I am looking at putting together, but as I am a newbie, I need to know if all these components will work together. Also, is there any improvement to these pieces. This build is $1100 and I am not looking to spend much/any more on this. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

My proposed build is as follows:

Asus Drw-24B1st DVD
Cooler Master HAF 912 Case
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4G
EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR 80 Plus Gold 750W
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 3000 Intel Z170
-Platform/Intel X99
ASRock Z170 Pro4S LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel
-Motherboard
Intel Core i5-6600K 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1151 91W
-BX80662I56600K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530
SanDisk Ultra II 2.5" 480GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SDSSDHII
-480G-G25

Solution
I assume this is a gaming build?

There are no compatibility issues, but you could make a couple of changes:

1. You could downgrade the PSU unless you're planning to add a second GPU. 750W is overkill for your build.
2. You could downgrade the RAM to 2133Mhz as that's the fastest speed the 6600K will support.

The 6600K doesn't include a cooler, so you'll need to budget for one. A 212 EVO or Cryorig H7 are good recommendations for the price.

Besides those (somewhat minor) points, it's a very good build.

Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to answer. I am reading a few things about overclocking, and I am wondering if I should even attempt it with the RAM. Any suggestions?
