Hello !

I removed the internal HDD In my Sony Vaio laptop due to a corruption and recovered all the
important data through another laptop using a converter casing. During the recovery, I found some bad sectors and after the completion of the recovery, I completely format the internal HDD.
Now, It seems to be healthy. But, I have no plans to plug it back to the internal HDD port of my laptop.

01. Instead, can I make the internal HDD as my primary boot device and run the windows OS through it via USB port?

02. If I plug it back to the laptop's internal HDD port, will it cause any problems, since it had bad sectors?

Please advise me... Thanks

Ramalan.

Solution
1) You CANNOT RUN WINDOWS OFF A USB DRIVE!
2) Just replace the disk with a new one, it's at most $75 for a 1TB drive, and if you don't need the extra space you can get 250GB SSDs for just a bit more!
2b) You can put the old disk back in if you want, but it'll just have more issues down the road, so why bother?
